Die Anwendung von Saphirfenstern ist vielf\u00e4ltig, so werden sie beispielsweise in Uhrenabdeckungen oder auch Laserschutzanwendungen verwendet. <a href=\"https:\/\/sinoptix.eu\/de\/portfolio-item\/saphirkuppel\/\">Saphirkuppeln<\/a> werden sogar in Raketenk\u00f6pfen eingesetzt. Saphirlinsen und asph\u00e4rische Saphirlinsen sind zwar verh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4\u00dfig teuer, da das Material schwer zu bearbeiten ist, kommen aber f\u00fcr anspruchsvolle Anwendungen infrage. Der franz\u00f6sische Chemiker Auguste Verneuil ist der Erfinder des synthetischen Saphirs, den er 1902 zum ersten Mal herstellte.<br \/>\nDer Saphir wird in der Regel durch Kristallisation von Aluminiumoxidpulver (Al2O3) bei hoher Temperatur und hohem Druck hergestellt. Es gibt verschiedene Entwicklungsverfahren f\u00fcr Saphirkristalle, von denen die am h\u00e4ufigsten verwendeten ISM (polykristallin), KY HEM und EFG CZ (monokristallin) sind.<br \/>\nDie wichtigsten Vorteile von Saphir sind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eine sehr gute Transmission im UV &#8211; NIR Spektrum<\/li>\n<li>Wesentlich h\u00f6here Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit als andere optische Gl\u00e4ser (Temperaturschock, chemisch, mechanisch)<\/li>\n<li>Sehr widerstandsf\u00e4hig gegen Kratzer und Abrieb (9 auf der Mohs-H\u00e4rteskala, knapp unterhalb des Diamanten)<\/li>\n<li>Sehr hohe Schmelztemperatur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aufgrund seiner hohen H\u00e4rte ist es jedoch schwer zu bearbeiten, insbesondere bei komplexen Formen.<br \/>\nSeine Transparenz und seine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche H\u00e4rte machen es zu einem begehrten Glas f\u00fcr die folgenden Anwendungen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uhren: Uhrenglas (kann NUR von Diamanten zerkratzt werden)<\/li>\n<li>Scanner-Glas: Oft anf\u00e4llig f\u00fcr Kratzer<\/li>\n<li>Smartphone Bildschirme<\/li>\n<li>Fenster, die hohen Temperaturen oder Druck widerstehen: z.B.
