Cette d\u00e9nomination provient de l&rsquo;utilisation massive du silicium dans les semi-conducteurs, utilisation due \u00e0 ses int\u00e9ressantes caract\u00e9ristiques di\u00e9lectriques. Cette mati\u00e8re a de tr\u00e8s bonne capacit\u00e9s de transmission dans l&rsquo;infrarouge moyen. Plus le composant sera complexe (<a href=\"https:\/\/sinoptix.eu\/fr\/optical-components\/ir-laser\/\">lentille, asph\u00e8re<\/a>) plus il y aura de chance que le composant Si sera plus co\u00fbteux que sont \u00e9quivalent en Ge.<\/p>\n<p>Secondement, leurs spectres d&rsquo;utilisation optimum sont diff\u00e9rents (et compl\u00e9mentaires), alors que le silicium a une bonne transmission entre 3 et 5\u00b5m, le germanium est lui tr\u00e8s passant entre 8et 12\u00b5m.<\/p>\n<p>Troisi\u00e8mement, les optiques en silicium sont plus r\u00e9sistant aux hautes temp\u00e9ratures que celles en germanium, utiliser du germanium \u00e0 des temp\u00e9rature de plus de 100\u00b0 en d\u00e9grade ses sp\u00e9cifications optiques.<\/p>\n<p>Quatri\u00e8mement, le germanium a un index de r\u00e9fraction plus important (4,05) que le silicium ( 2,5), cela est int\u00e9ressant pour le design de lentilles avec de plus larges champs de vision.<\/p>\n<p>Finalement, du fait de son spectre de transmission plus large, le germanium est pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 pour les applications avec des lasers CO2.<\/p>\n<h2>Comment trouver un bon fournisseur pour des optiques en silicium?<\/h2>\n<p>Les composants optiques en silicium sont fabriqu\u00e9s par des fabricants d&rsquo;optique de pr\u00e9cision sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les composants IR. Du fait de la valeur \u00e9lev\u00e9 de la mati\u00e8re, la sp\u00e9cialisation permet \u00e0 ces soci\u00e9t\u00e9s d&rsquo;avoir des outils d\u00e9di\u00e9s, mois de pression sur les stocks et des
